CAREERS / INTERNSHIP

Analyst — M&A & Financial Valuation

Paris · Final-year internship · January 2027 · 6 months

Seichō Partners

Seichō Partners is an independent strategic advisory and capital engineering firm.

We work alongside SME owner-managers on growth, succession and changes to their shareholder structure. Our work focuses on the moments that shape a company's trajectory and that of its shareholders: acquisitions, sale and succession, opening or reorganising the capital, financing and valuation.

Our engagements typically cover financial and strategic diagnosis, company valuation, pre-transaction financial reviews, Vendor Assistance and Vendor Due Diligence, analysis of shareholder scenarios, transaction structuring, and support to the owner-manager throughout preparation and execution.

Seichō Partners provides independent M&A advisory without acting as a placement agent or receiving remuneration for introducing counterparties.

We work alongside the owner-manager to assess options, prepare and structure transactions and support their execution. Where a transaction requires brokerage, we work alongside the relevant specialist advisers. This model protects the independence of our advice: our recommendations never depend on a deal being completed.

The opportunity

We are hiring a final-year intern analyst from January 2027, for a six-month internship.

You will contribute directly to the firm's live engagements: financial and strategic analysis, valuations, due diligence, acquisitions and succession processes, capital structuring and financing.

You will work directly with the founder on every engagement. He will supervise your work and support your development throughout the internship. You will progressively be exposed to the owner-managers, shareholders, investors and external advisers involved in our mandates.

We are looking for someone able to build autonomy on their own workstreams over time, with the intention of entrusting them with increasing responsibility as they progress.

At the end of the internship, our aim is to be able to offer the successful candidate a permanent role as the firm's first full-time hire.

Your responsibilities

You will contribute directly to the different phases of our engagements, including:

Financial analysis & valuation

Analysis of accounts and normalised performance, adjustments, working capital, net debt and cash flow; valuation of companies and intangible assets; financial modelling and scenario analysis.

Due diligence & strategic analysis

Pre-transaction financial reviews, Vendor Assistance and Vendor Due Diligence; sector research, market analysis, competitive mapping and analysis of target companies as part of acquisition strategies.

Structuring & transaction documentation

Analysis of shareholder structures, cap tables and capital evolution scenarios; reading, analysing and summarising legal and transaction documentation: LOIs, term sheets, shareholders' agreements, sale and purchase documentation, financing documentation and financial instruments.

Transaction execution & monitoring

Preparation of analyses, memoranda and working materials; support on the monitoring and coordination of financing, acquisition, sale or shareholder reorganisation processes, working with the various stakeholders involved.

AI, data & automation

Use of AI, research and automation tools applied to analytical work and engagement monitoring; contribution to the continuous improvement of the firm's internal methods and tools.

Your level of exposure to engagements and clients, as well as the autonomy entrusted to you on certain workstreams, will grow in line with your progress.

Who we are looking for

We are open to two academic backgrounds.

Profile 1: Business law with a strong interest in finance

You are studying for a Master's in business law, or an equivalent leading legal programme, with a focus on corporate law, corporate/M&A or banking and finance law. A joint degree with a business school or a finance specialisation is valued but not required. You want to apply your legal training to transactions, financial analysis and economic decision-making, in direct contact with owner-managers and shareholder issues.

Profile 2: Finance with strong legal and transactional awareness

You are studying at a leading Grande École, Master's or MSc programme, with a specialisation in corporate finance, M&A or strategy. You are comfortable with the fundamentals of financial analysis and want to understand a transaction beyond the Excel model: financial instruments, legal documentation, governance, negotiation and shareholder dynamics.

What we expect

Whatever your background, prior experience in M&A, Transaction Services, financial audit, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Finance or a corporate law firm is highly valued.

Above all, we are looking for:

  • strong analytical ability and genuine quantitative rigour;
  • impeccable written French;
  • a sound understanding of financial statements and core corporate finance mechanics;
  • curiosity about capital, governance and succession issues;
  • the ability to understand and summarise complex legal documentation;
  • the ability to build autonomy and thrive in a demanding, flat, entrepreneurial environment;
  • high standards on the quality of deliverables;
  • intelligent use of AI and automation tools as levers for research, analysis and productivity.

We value the ability to understand a problem, challenge an assumption and produce reliable work far more than the mechanical mastery of models or templates.

Six-month final-year internship:

  • Pass Navigo travel card: 75% covered
  • Luncheon vouchers: EUR 12 per day, 60% covered
